IRAN ANNOUNCES 1ST NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED ATHLETES
The Iran Sports Federation for the Blind and Visually Impaired has announced it will organise the 1st National Sports Festival for the Blind at the Dr. Ali Shariati University Sports Complex in the capital city of Tehran.
The dates for the festival are July 31st to August 10th 2009, and the festival promises to be a huge event, with the participation of more than 1 600 blind and partially sighted athletes who will gather to compete in competitions in seven IBSA sports: goalball, judo, athletics, swimming, powerlifting, tandem cycling and futsal. Chess also features on the competition programme.
