IBSA LOOKS TO THE FUTURE AND SEEKS HOST FOR 4TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND GAMES
With just over one month until the opening of the 3rd IBSA World Championships and Games Brazil 2007 on Sunday 29th July, IBSA is already making plans for future editions of its showcase event.
IBSA has contacted its 108 member countries to ask any nation interested in hosting the 4th IBSA World Championships and Games, scheduled to be held in 2011, to contact IBSA with a view to beginning discussions on the dates, competition programme, sports facilities and other key organisational areas.

The IBSA World Championships and Games are IBSA’s showcase event, providing blind and partially sighted sportsmen and sportswomen with a platform for elite performance in competition with their peers in a number of sports to demonstrate to the world that they are “Capable of Everything”.
The 3rd edition of the event follows on from Madrid ’98 and Quebec ’03. The championship programme features IBSA World Championships in athletics, swimming and powerlifting and IBSA World Games in goalball, judo, futsal B1 category and futsal B2/B3 category. The competitions in athletics, swimming, goalball and judo form part of the qualification process for the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.
