worlds swimming records beaten Madrid '98

 

Spain and Great Britain, with 4 new world records each, headed this classification. The other nine world records were shared between Germany (2), Russia (2), China (2), Denmark (2) and Canada (1).

The Spaniard Francisco Segarra clearly stands out, having twice in a row beaten the 200m freestyle record (B2) and twice again in the 200m backstroke.

The Dane Christian Bundgaard, the Chinese girl Hongyan Zhu and the Russian Andrei Strokine were also two-time winners in the race against the clock.
