Spain launched the "Seville CINESPORT" project as part of the campaign to host the 2004 Games in Seville. This first attempt has failed but the project continues apace to go for the 2008 Games.

Sevillian InitiativeThe countdown has already started for the 2004 Olympic/Paralympic Games. The Spanish city of Seville (which, in '92 - running parallel to the Barcelona Games, held the World Fair dedicated to the Discovery of America) put forward its candidature with the backing of an active association which has fought the other contenders to the last minute. In this environment of sporting fervour, the Sevillian City Council - through its Sports Institute - has elaborated an important project aimed at holding "Seville CINESPORT", a week of sporting cinema which aims to provide strong links to the Olympic and Paralympic movements.
